Our puppy Head Start session is designed for you!
Tailored to owners who want to provide the best possible foundation to their young dog's life, this 90 minute session takes place in your own home in Austin or Hays county. The session is most helpful for first-time dog owners, although anyone with a puppy aged 8-16 weeks is welcome to sign up for the session.
What happens in the session?
The first half of the session is used as a question & answer period. Your trainer will answer all of your questions about raising a young puppy, as well as making sure that your house and yard are properly set-up for the safety of the pup. We address the most common behavior problems such as housebreaking, biting at hands, jumping up... just to name a few.
The second half of the session will begin early training, and show you how to implement the skills yourself! We specifically address walking nicely on leash, sit, crate-training, being handled, and early attention training. We finish up by giving you a checklist of important socialization tips as well a list of people, places and objects that your puppy should be exposed to before reaching early adulthood.
The focus is to provide you with the information you need in order to ensure your new dog will have the best start possible!
